HIPAA Orientation – 2023

This course provides an overview of the basic requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) as they apply to paramedical examiners that perform medical data collection services on behalf of APPS Paramedical.

The presentation is designed to familiarize you with HIPAA’s Privacy, Security and Breach Notification Rules, as well as the APPS policies and procedures regarding protected health information.  You will be required to correctly answer a few short questions at the end of the course.

This course satisfies the annual update requirement for Covered Entities and their Business Associates, as those terms are defined under HIPAA.  Participants will be provided with a Certificate of Completion upon successful completion of the course.

Instructions

1. Watch the HIPAA Orientation Video below.  The controls have been removed, so you will not be able to fast-forward, pause or rewind the presentation until it has completed.
2. After completing the video, click the Certificate of Completion image.  It will launch a five question quiz related to HIPAA.  Afterwards, your Certificate of Completion will be sent to you via email and we will be notified that you have satisfied this requirement.
